On Monday, January 21st, 2019, at 9a, roughly 30 McCallie students were bused to the southeast side of Missionary Ridge to the old Pleasant Garden Cemetery in Ridgeside. Along with students from GPS and Baylor they worked to clear brush from around gravestones and basically expand the accessible area of one of the oldest black cemeterys in the state.
That afternoon about 150 students hiked up Missionary Ridge from McCallie School and began picking up trash around the Ohio Monument. They then moved along South Crest across the bridge over I-24 and up to Bragg Reservation, picking up more trash as they traveled.
Below are the pictures showing the trash that was picked up and the sights of the old cemetery.
